U9 Barracudas (May 27 Gallery)

It was another great game with the boys all putting in a super effort against the Stella Icestorms. The Barracudas made about 5 or 6 attempts in the first half of the match that didn’t quite make the goal. It was in the second half, we finally managed to find our mark and scored. Fortunately, our goal-keepers’ skills kept the other teams efforts from going in and this allowed us to take our 3rd win in a row with 1 – Nil this week. Laird took home Man of the Match for his consistency. He was constantly in there chasing the ball, supporting his mates and making attempts at the goal when he got a chance. Well done Laird! Thanks to Frank for the continued great work you are putting in to shape this team. It is fun to watch their progress. (Monique and Brad Everton)

U12 Sharks

Coolum Sharkies were playing against Noosa Gold who they had drawn with in the trial matches. The first half of the game was a struggle for the Sharks with our keeper arriving at half time and us having no subs, the team had to dig deep and fight. Noosa scored first but we quickly replied with a great cross from Lachlan and a solid finish from Jye. The first half ended 1-1, and with Jarrah back in goals and everyone else back in normal formation we controlled the game.  The second goal for the Sharks was from Adam with a great shot from left wing, Daniel scored the next one with a nice long shot going over the top of the keeper, and to truly secure the game Caden made a good run making it past 4 players before passing it off to Jake who slotted it bottom left. The game was a great testament to the team’s strength and ability to keep fighting no matter what situation they are in. Man of the match went to Jye.
