U12 – Coolum Sharks were up against first place Caloundra Black. The Sharkies started off strong, pressuring Caloundra and putting shots on goal. In the first 5 minutes Caden put a great through ball to Jake in which he had a 1 on 1 with the goalie and managed to slot the ball in the back of the net putting us up 1-0 early on.  A few more opportunities were created but nothing came of them, and Caloundra woke up and started to put attempts on our goal as well, and after some pressure in our own half they managed to score a goal and tie up the game before half time. The Second half started with both teams out for the win, it was a constant back and forth game, however Coolum was moving the ball around and putting some great through balls for our strikers, but they couldn’t manage to get it into the back of the net, until Jake came very close hitting the left upright after which we regained the ball and within a minute Adam attempted to chip the goal-keeper and the keeper fumbled the ball into the net. Unfortunately, near the final whistle, under sustained pressure the Sharkies didn’t clear the ball wide and it ended back at the feet of a Caloundra player who and slotted it bottom left past Jarrad who played a very solid game.

U9 – Coolum Barracudas had a tough match against a team sporting two strong strikers. They fought well but came up short a strong opposition. Well done to Henry who played well in goals and secured the MVP award.
