Coolum Sharks started off against Bli Bli like every other game, strong, fast, controlling the game and taking lots of shots. However in the first half with all of our pressure, the only goal scored was from Adam who followed in a shot from jake which the keeper saved but knocked out to Adam. The second half Coolum was hungry for more goals, with the continued pressure from the first half Coolum kept controlling the game. Jake took a lot of shots but couldn’t manage to get one in the net so decided he would assist again by passing the ball across goal to Jye who slammed the ball home. The next goal was from Jo who did a beautiful run getting around 4 players and slotting it bottom right with his left foot. Then finally Jake joined the score sheet by getting a loose ball from a corner and putting it top right. Bli Bli fought hard though, and managed to get more control of the game and started to pressure the Sharks, however they couldn’t manage to score. The Sharks are improving each week and this was very evident in this game with how they played and moved the ball around. MVP went to Luke, he really stepped up and made sure no one got past him, as well as taking some nice runs up the wing to put us back on the attack.

Coolum dominated the match from the very start with solid goal-keeping from Uriah giving everyone the confidence to push forward. Goals followed with Chancellor Cubs trying to get close to our goal and forcing some good defending from our boys. In the second half we switched players around to give those who are more defence-oriented a chance to run the ball and develop their skills in this. Overall an easy game for the Barracudas, and we’ll be looking for more opportunities like this to run players in positions they normally don’t get much exposure to. Player of the match went to Henry for his good positioning and improvement that he’s shown over the last few matches.
